Ward rounds today is highly enriching because we have a good consultant who is willing to teach us... got little nuggets of information from both the MO and consultant. Shall attend whenever I can.

Some med students are apparently quite unhappy that we went to their wards to observe procedures/ clerk patients... I dun know what's the fuss about this whole thing bcos I am ok with other ppl clerking patients or doing procedures from the ward we are based in and I dun see why we should restrict ourselves with 1 ward. I am on good terms with the HO there, she being a very very good senior to me since I enter med school. That's why I usu approach her as i find it easier to talk to someone i know... Anyway, she is more than willing to help anyone who approaches her... So I really dun see the pt why some ppl are so uptight... We should cultivate the spirit of sharing bcos everyone benefits, isn't it?
K even said that there are definitely enuff things for everyone to try...

So yes, I have reasoned with myself and found that there's nothing fundamentally wrong, so i dun have to feel bad or worry about what others say. Hopefully everything will get better in the weeks to come by.

My first post after a long hiatus! Today is my first day in CGH after three weeks of holidays ...

I am glad to be posted to CGH because it's so near my house. It takes 10 to 15 min to walk from my house to cgh. and that means I get to sleep more... (I slept at least 10 hours during the holidays)CGH is like a resort- all medical students are given a locker, an access card + there are sport facilities like gym, tennis court and badminton court.

We haven't had a tutorial yet, though I heard from some of my friends that cgh gives good tutorials to compensate for the lack of patients here... Unfortunately, because of the lack of cases here, we have to travel to different hospitals for some sub-specialty tutorials in the mornings or afternoons for certain days... It makes no sense to me since i am living in tamp... so I have to travel to ttsh for a one hour tutorial and back to cgh. Sigh... I thought I could save up on transport for these two months.
