Rumours spread like wild fire... How true this statement is! But the whole story is simply too complicated to be narrated because it involves many families... There's always many problems whenever marriage preparations are concerned... Sigh...

I went for MDC gathering at Hanyu's place today... Not knowing that it was Hanyu's birthday, I did not bring any present, causing me much guilt and embarrassment throughout the party, though Hanyu insisted that it was his idea not to inform any of the Younger ones about his birthday... Actually, I did suspect that it's a birthday party I would be going to but was just too lazy to wrap up a present... In fact, I must admit that I was quite reluctant to go at first since Gillian was not going. However, since Jensen called me along and offered me a ride, I felt that I must go... If not, like shua da pai right? and cannot give any lame excuses because dharma teaches us not to lie... haha

His houses is situated at Duchess Avenue... Another rich kid! Hanyu lives near to Seraphina.. Was wondering whether they knoe each other... None of the M1 and M2 members was there except me... Sigh... Of course, I wished Hanyu happy birthday and apologisedto him for not bringing any present ...

We watched the extended version of the Two Towers.... but I couldn't concentrate on the movie... I felt like a fish out of the water and was actually bored ... Was expecting them to play bridge, or majong but they didn't... Though KC tried to inject humour, I couldn't hide my boredom and I guess that everyone could see that I was bored... Really apologetic for showing my boredom but I didn't mean to...

just had my class outing today, or should i say clique outing... Anyway, it was ultra-fun meeting ppl whom I have not met for the past three months or even one year, re-establishing long-lost contacts and knowing how' everyone 's doing... We were supposed to meet at Somerset MRT, 11am sharp but as usual, knowing that many ppl would be late, I left home fifteen minutes later... True to my prediction, Christopher woke up when I was about to leave. We dined at Marshae, sharing our food which include rosti, soft-shell crab, crepes, salmon, turkey... We chatted and there was a lot of verbal-jostling (a phrase which sw likes to use) and lively repertoire among us... At that point in time, I was hoping that time would just come to a standstill, as I was having a lot of fun listening to others talk and interrupting the conversation with some of my wit or crap.

After our filling lunch, we went to watch Lord of the Rings. This movie is really good and I am compelled to say that it's worth every buck I have paid. The lovely scenery, majestic battle scenes, excellent music are just but some of the praises I have for the movie.. But most importantly, the director remained faithful to the book without changing any major part of the storyline albeit some minor parts...
But the only thing I dun like is how they deliberately make Legolas look so cool... Legolas is always very xtra, making comments like "a diversion"... Sigh... But overall the movie is one of the best i have watched so far...

We went to Delifrance for dinner. We met up with CY and teased him about his "glorious" past (ahem... I shan't elaborate much... haha), with many of my friends lamenting about their lack of luck in their love lives... Huh... I should be the one complaining by the way. All the rumours that ppl have speculated have not even a tinge of truth in them!!!

Excellent class outing. Looking foward FERVENTLY to the next class bbq.

finally Finished reading the witching hours... over 1000 pages. Quite a good read, though I find it too draggy in the middle... I have just started on tale of the body thief and the idea of being able to exchange bodies with one another struck me as an extremely refreshing one... Anne Rice touched a lot on the complexities of human nature : how we long for something but when we finally attain that certain goal, we still remain unsatisfied... and why we continue with our mistakes despite knowing what is good/bad, rt/wrong...
Darkness and evil have such alluring beauty that we are constantly drawn to it no matter how strong our will power are... I suppose that's why we are always committing errors...

It has been a long time since i last blogged... Everytime i go online, i will just give excuses for myself not to blog... partly bcos my holidays hasn't been all that interesting... Besides helping out with the various preparations for my cousin's wedding, I spent time reading books, writing christmas cards, going out with my friends... Few ppl to go out with during weekdays as most of my friends whom I normally go out with will be stuck in ns serving the nation...haha

So what to do? Just slack... But slacking can be very boring at times. Oh i am Planning to give tuition when the new year begins since my commitments would be less next year and i can earn extra income at the same time... Registered with a couple of tuition agencies...heard from jack that there's some anat lecture on mon... Wonder why did prof raj schedule a lecture in the middle of our holiday, spoiling out christmas mood?

Did nothing today except reading... Finally completed reading Vampire Lestat, the second book of the Vampire Chronicles. This book has a much happier tone than Interview with the Vampire, which left me satisfied. It also answers many questions which were left unanswered in the first book like How, when where did vampires originate. Also, it gives us more insight to Lestat, originally thought as unfeeling and evil...


I went online and listened to an interview Anne Rice gave after writing Vampire Lestat. Her voice was as surreal and mesmerising as the style she adopted for all her books. She talked about how the idea of writing about vampires materialised and basically her beliefs and life. Was more impressed than ever after listening to this interview.

Today, I went out with Jiali, SA to Pasir Ris Park, with the intent to teach SA how to cycle. The weather great and our spirits high, we arrived at Pasir Ris Park and rented one bicycle for a duration of two hours. And renting a bike in Pasir Ris is much more expensive than East Coast. It costs $8 to rent a bicycle for two hours in Pasir Ris Park whereas it costs $8 to rent a bicycle for 3 hours in East Coast Park... The method that I taught SA was completely different from Jiali's. She proposed to teach her how to start cycling, thereafter allowing her to have a feel of cycling. She claimed that it would give the cyclist a greater sense of control over the bicycle. But the way I learnt, at least if my memory ddin't fail me, was to have a feel of balance and cycle till the point when I did not need others to hold on to my bike, after which I learnt to start the bicycle... We tried both methods, but unfortunately, SA did not manage to master cycling within 2 hours, though she had a feel of what cycling is all about.

After that, we met up with Michelle and went to have our lunch at White Sands. We then returned to Pasir Ris Park again, determined that SA master cycling by today.. However, she was too tired to continue, so, Jiali and I rented bikes and cycled round Pasir Ris Park for one hour. Cycling feels different in Pasir Ris Park and East COast Park. It is definitely more exhilarating to cycle in Pasir Ris Park with its numerous slopes and bends but more boring bcos it is not as big as East COast Park...
But one will definitely learn how to balance better by cycling down slopes... Also there are fewer ppl in Pasir Ris Park.

I have been cycling quite frequently these days. Just last Saturday, I cycled with my ANAt group from East Coast to Changi Airport...QUite fun.... though very tiring. Went back home totally exhausted and slept through the night soundly. I think I slept for 10 hours. Only with the rousing of my parents and ringing of my telephone did I force myself out from the bed.

On Sunday, I went to Expo for John Little Sale and Penguin book sale. Bought two books, " Oscar Wilde 's biography" and Hans CHristen ANdersen book of fairy tales... Read Aesop Fables and found it very interesting.

Just went out with Xunchen for dinner at Long John Silver... I had an animating conversation with him for the whole two hours, talking about everything from soccer to books. I must admit that I always feel intellectually-challenged and stimulated whenever I am with him... His frank opinions about the things around( be it ppl or a particular subject) are deep and thought-provoking, at least that's what I feel... Everytime we meet, it's like knowing him once again and this experience is great... I managed to borow from him the second and third novel of the Vampire Chronicles, books which are hardly found in the library. There is only one copy of Her second novel about Lestat which amazes me as this doesn't do justice to her greatness as a novelist...

After reaching home, I started writing testimonials for Suay Wei, Xun Chen, Gina, Kelvin, George, Wei Lun, KC... I do not knoe where I get this sudden burst of energy. My creative juices just kept flowing and flowing and flowing.. Even now when I am writing this blog, I am writing effortlessly without much thoughts. The right words just appear right in my mind without much thinking... Really dun know how that can happen.. Hmm Maybe it's because of my reading... I even sent a message to Suay Wei telling him that I am addicted to writing and he replied saying that I am mad!!! Ha Ha. I really love the testimonial I wrote about XC because it depicts his character so well!!!

I really want to start reading the second novel to the Vampire Chronicles but at the same time, quite unwilling to start as I know it will end soon after I start reading. It has a long time since I had that feeling... Jing Yong, the chinese novels ...

ok liao, must start reading... Too little time to read books...

Holiday has just started and I am relishing every second, every minute of it that I hope that time could come to a standstill to prolong this moment of sweetness... On Wednesday, I went out with my OG, something that surprised me as I wasn't close to my OG at all... Going out with my OG turned out to be not so bad after all, contrary to my unfounded fears. We played beach volleyball the whole afternoon and fortunately, I managed to hit the ball, albeit many misses... I realised that it is easy to hit the ball with your hands but difficult to control its direction and force. Too bad I didn't get to swim which I consider a must for every beach outing. My friends asked me to swim by my own but what's the point??? Unfortunately, I didn't stay for dinner as my mum had cooked my dinner...

On Tuesday, I went out with Xunchen to watch Master and Commander. It was a great movie with unexpected twist and turns. I like particularly the ending in which Russell Crowe had to make a U turn back to find the ship... Perfect Ending... Both the captains had outwitted each other! Watch the movie and I assure that you will love it...

I was supposed to go cycling with Sue Ann and Jiali on Thursaday but the cycling trip was cancelled last minute as SA had something on... With my plans of the day spoilt, I went to a nearby library to continue reading Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice, which I borrowed from XunChen. Anne Rice is XunChen favourite authoress and I wanted to challenge myself to reading a fantasy book since the books that I read were always real-life... and Guess what? I was actually addicted to the story line and the language, exactly what XUnchen has told me. Anne Rice writes so well that I am compelled to say that she is one of the best modern century writers, though I usually abstain from making comparisons.. Her depictions of the characters Lestat, Louis and Claudi were so life-liked and real that I saw vestiges of their emotions in myself. I allow myself to be led freely by her characters and I actually felt emotionally drained after finishing this book. Louis is the character I empathise most, because in him, I see a reflection of my inner soul. Lestat, a character that I feel for; Claudia, a character that has no control over her own destiny. I am wondering if anyone has the movie Interview with the Vampire starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt... Pls lend it to me!
