Why am I writing today... Because I feel a compulsive need to do so after what I went through this week...

Firstly, I had to grapple with Mr Ho's death. Not that I am very close to him... He was not my teacher, though he briefly taught in Dunman High... But he is so young and has yet to enjoy life to the fullest... It really makes me ponder about whether I take life for granted... What's the point of squabbling over small tiny- weeny stuff, or getting fruastrated and angry over some trivial matter? Life is just too short for us to be engaged in such energy-consuming "activities". Who knoes what will happen to me tomorrow? touch wood... We should cherish those people around us and enjoy life to the fullest... (certainly not mugging)

Which brings me to sijia and sue ann's departure today... This farewell was much more tearful than siying's one... When I was still in nus, I received a message by sijia which read, "Nicholas, I will be leaving for sydney tonight.Just like to say farewell... Thanx for ur friendship thus far...etc..." I was really touched by her kind gesture....

I went to the airport, together with sean, jiali, michelle, miaw rong and gina. We met Sue Ann and gave her our well wishes... SHe was all teary-eyed when she bid farewell to her parents, relatives and friends... Sijia was melancholic as well, unusually silent, unlike her vibrant self...

i have lost a friend whom I can talk with by the phone for hours, talking about anything under the sky... I wish both of them best of luck for their lives ahead...

I wonder if anyone takes notice of the strong political message behind The Last Samurai... Though George wrote on his blog that the film was basically very pro- American, I can't seem to see the connection. For me, it's more like the world only superpower must recognise that taking advantage of the weakness of any country is nothing to be proud of and certainly not what a Samurai would approve. Concealing its intentions behind a veil of righteouness and moralistic ideals will certainly not deceive its citizens, let alone her other counterparts... Let's work towards a world where there is no conspiracies among one another, where everyone lives in harmony... SOund idealistic? No, I truly believe it's attainable if every country puts in small effort on her part.

Watching Last Samurai was a perfect choice! I enjoyed it from the start to the end and I can't stop raving about it... Particularly impressive was Katsumoto's sterling performance which I think deserve an Oscar nomination. His pair of eyes conveys such deep emotions that even I was nearly moved to tears at the end. Tom Cruise's acting was fine, though not as fantastic as Katsumoto. T

Pardon me for my laziness. I have been wanting to update this blog but somehow it never works out... Yesterday was an extremely busy day. I attended lecture from 8-12 , after which I went to SRC to play badminton with both KC and Jason. Sigh, my badminton skills are as bad as before. THe range is still quite amall, despite my countless efforts to exert more momentum to the shuttlecock. Perhaps my technique is really wrong. Went to swim later... Spent almost all the 1hr soaking in the water and talking to kc about his plans and the latest tvb drama shown on channel u: wu tou gong gong. A ridiculous show indeed, but I must admit the idea is refreshing and kudos to the screenwriter.

We wanted to go to SAKAE Sushi for the buffet. However, since jason didn want to eat (bcos he feels that he is getting fatter by the day... We teased him about you-know-what) , so we had to settle for YIH WEstern food. As I was too tired to go to BORDERS with KC, I went home early... He wanted to buy "LOrd of the flies" by William Golding after hearing good reviews about it. I read this book when I was in sec 4 and like it a lot. I actually cried when PIggy died... OK, shant disclose too much information in case it spoils the fun of reading...
