To the person who wrote the comment for my previous blog:

ok I am trying to be objective here. PLs forgive me if i offend u in some way or another... ok, according to Dr Teo and books that I have read (which may be biased), the Catholic church, in an attempt to consolidate power, persecuted those fringe groups that refused to be under central control. But what they practised and wrote may perhaps be the right thing... No one knows... So it's really unfair to label them as unorthodox or heretical!
And those lost gospels... Why the churches reject these gospels is subjected to lots of speculations... I do not believe that Mary is a sinner/ prostitute and as bad as what the "orthodox" churches have tried to protray her as... Anyway, she's the first person who spoke to jesus Christ after his resurrection (correct me if I'm wrong) , so her writings cannot be dismissed and must be taken seriously...
What I am trying to say ultimately is that though we try to distinct our religion from other religions by our practices and beliefs, perhaps there's no real difference... Buddha may have elucidated these teachings, but Jesus Christ could have said it too...Do U really know who God is or what god is? The God everyone tries to personify? Perhaps God is just a perfect state of everything(not trying to be blasphemous here, but that's a possibility, if u r objective enough) The old writings ( be it the sufis, desert fathers, gnoists , jewish,etc)mention god not as a person...


Whatever it is, keep an open mind... strive for the truth and hopefully, all of us will know the truth one day...

Attended a highly interesting talk by Dr Teo yesterday about the mystics of other religion... Dr Teo touched upon Christian Mystics who were deemed as heretics by the Christian Masses even till today... There is some similarity between the Gnostic teachings and Buddhism... Gonna explore deeper in this subject, esp the lost Gospels (again rejected by the Pope for whatever reason...)

Haven't been blogging much these days! I am just too busy to find any time to blog. just a quick sum up of whirlwind of events that happened last week...


Sat: Went out for tennis session with sw, ed, wl, kel ,kc and jason... Huh, quite glad that my tennis skills have improved by a little bit, though still far from the high standards set by sw ... (This is not meant to be an Assas--- I truly mean it!!!) At least there r more "in" shots and less ball watching... But my backhand still needs more strength and right stroke! It's really difficult to perfect tennis strokes... Hoping that Iwill be able to play a decent game by year end...

DIned at Viet COng, a newly established vietnam cafe offering thai-like cuisine... the quality of the food there was so-so, nothing spectacular... The portions were definitely miesrly! No one felt that their hunger was adequetely 'quenched'.

Didn't watch any movie due to lack of good shows... should have watched Saved! , if only christian "fundamentalists" hadn't opposed to the screening of the show, leading to a week delay... Nxt week, most probably will watch jackie chan new flick!

Went to carrefour instead to buy tennis balls to replace lost balls... Bought yoghurt, shower foam as well... Kinda took some time which perhaps irked ed, who was in a rush to his second outing.

Watched Farenheit 911 at sw's house... I am anti-Bush... Pls dun let Bush get re-elected... Kerry has nothing much to offer, but I consider his as a lesser evil to Bush who was purported to have links with Bin LAden family... I want the world to return to Bill CLinton era where there were much less massive conflicts!


Sun: Went to RS house for Karaoke session... My vocal range is really atrocious--- I can't reach low notes nor high notes... Halfway thru Jacky cheung "Zhu Fu", i was croaking, trying desperately to keep up with the rhythm and melody... But it just got better after 2 songs... Particularly impressive was RS who belted out love ballads, canto-pop songs like he's a professional singer, holding his concert... And his dance movements + expression r really natural... What can I say? A true performer... Juliana and Kareen were excellent singers too! I sang "Ku Sha" together with Kareen, a really depressing song which brought upon me a pensive mood for the next couple of minutes...

Joanne Peh was robbed of her wildcard! I am so angry with the Singapore idol judges who chose to leave her out, choosing lacklustre singers instead... It's so damn unfair when joanne was one of the top 5 contestants in the 2nd week. and 4 of the 9 wildcards, are outside the top 5...

I like Auntie Joanne's singing bcos she's pretty and has a sweet voice that does not hurt my eardrums. I find it baffling that ppl tend to equate "big voice" with good singing...

sometimes, i just feel that we bring upon our own misery by clinging on to our own desires despite knowing that desires are the root of our unhappiness. Ironic, isn't it? I Wait! I knoe u guys must be thinking that it's some of my silly dharma concepts but I am convinced that these"concepts" or "ideas" (whatever u wish to think of) can stand alone by themselves without having to bring religion to the picture... We are searching for happiness relentlessly, thinking that only when I achieve so and so, I can be happy. But, when we are unable to fulfil our desires, we still chase after it desperately, not realising that our unhappiness stems from our desires.

We are too concerned about how others view us, too concerned about what is wrong with us, failing to look past our own faults. I am always reminded by the story that Ajahn Brahm told it ad nauseum to the audiences... We fail to see the 999 good bricks, instead focusing on the only flawed brick!

Thanks to everyone who has made my life so meaningful and fulfilling! Ok, i tend to be more introspective on mon bcos of mdc, so forgive me if this blog post has a buddhist theological slant to it.

shall sum up what i did for the past few days:

Mon: Witnessed the aftermath of a gruesome car accident while on my way back home in my senior's car at 1030 pm . The victim was a guy in his mid fifties and he was lying motionless on the road. As I was too horrified by the accident, I did not dare to take a good look at his face... (Luckily! If not, I will have bad dreams for the rest of the week!) Judging by the distance he was away from his bicycle, it's not hard to deduce that he was thrown off his bicycle upon impact by the big lorry. My senior, an anasthetist was quick to conclude that the guy is a goner; death was almost instantaneous and that there's no point getting off the car to revive him whatsoever... True to his words, Wed newspaper reported that the guy sustained severe head injuries and died almost instantaneously (which was well before we passed by the accident scene)

Ok, I must admit that i was rather traumatised by everything as this was the very first accident that I witnessed with the body intact... It sets me into thinking: Life is so fragile.. No matter how successful we are in life, it's impossible to fight and conquer death... That's life... So here I am, worrying unduly about problems or squabbling over some petty trivial things without realising that I may not wake up tomorrow ALIVE... Hmm, I should be more grateful with what I have at present! Ha, I knoe that some of my friends may not agree with what I have said...


Tue: Nothing interesting worth blogging except that school ended early, leaving me with plenty time to sleep, slack, study...

Wed: Was late for PBL ! !! How unlucky can one get! As CoFM tutorial ended early, a few of my PBL grp members decided to have lunch at FONG SENG. Moreover, among us, C, E and J drive to school. ok, in retrospect, Maybe it's not a very good idea to drive to FS when we could have taken the internal shuttle, saving time trying to look for a suitable parking lot, etc. But it's really cool to be sitting in a Volkswagan, with the canopy lifted up (though it 's kinda stupid as the sun was shining brightly above us) Everyone at the bus stop was staring at us as the volkswagan swerved past C was busy taking photographs of us in another car.

Fong Seng Nasi Lemak is fantastic. I just love the chili and the fragant coconut rice... I can just have another plate of rice without any ingredients, just chili alone... Though I was sweating profusely, the meal was satisfying.

But what happened at nuh was really hilarious. G and C couldn't get out of the car bcos the handle was pulled out instead of out... It's rather difficult to explain and i shan't do so... My PBL tutor , Prof Chong was really furious that we kept him waiting ... According to my other PBL mates , he stomped out of the tutorial room, saying that he hates ppl who r unpunctual.

We tried explaining to him about the unforseen circumstances that had cropped up on our way to nuh but needless to say, he refused to listen to our "excuses" ...
